ICC Cricket world Cup 2023 was originally scheduled to take place from February 9 to March 26, 2023, however owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the dates were changed to October and November 2023.
After co-hosting prior competitions in 1987 with Pakistan, 1996 Cricket World Cup with West Pakistan and Ceylon, and ICC World Cup 2011 with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This may be the first time India will be hosting the competition on its own.

ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifier Team List
The following nations have qualified for the 2023 World Cup: India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Pakistan, West Indies, and New Zealand.
Apart from these countries, the recent report reveals that South Africa also progresses to the ICC World Cup 2023 matches.
The following teams have qualified for the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, from which two of them will advance to the World Cup. They are Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands.
ICC World Cup 2023 Format
The ICC World Cup 2023 should have a total of 10 teams, just like it did in 2019. Similar to the 1992 and 2019 cricket world cups, each team will face the other teams in a round-robin (randomly picked team) format.
The top two strongest groups with maximum points from a semi-final between four teams will advance to the final.
The top eight teams, involving the host India, will advance automatically, while the final two countries will be chosen for the ICC Cricket World Cup matches in 2022–2033 via Super League.
